The New York Style Eatery Based in Birmingham’s City Centre

A Grade II listed bank on Colmore Road has been given a new lease of life and has turned into a beautiful upscale New York style seafood and steak restaurant.

Named Jailbird, the restaurant serves up mouth watering plated of steaks, lobster and a smorgasbord of delicious sides.

The decor is resembles the look and feel you would expect to find in the restaurants of New York’s Upper East Side, with the hanging lights, marble bar tops and subtle hints of green creating an overall luxurious feel to the establishment. Even the walls are adorned with artwork of the New York skyline!

Downstairs you will find the cocktail lounge, which exudes class through the marble surfaces, brightly coloured seating and hanging lights. The statement bar in the main eatery upstairs has been decorated with beautiful green and clear glass which fits in perfectly with the red, white and exposed brickwork running throughout the restaurant.

Overall, the designers wanted Jailbird to encapsulate the feeling of escapism as well as luxury.

The menu certainly reflects the opulence of the interior, on it you can find Boston rib steak priced at £55, king lobster at £49 and also surf and turf at £35. For a starter, diners can tantalise their taste buds with scallops and bacon (£9.90) or sweet ‘n’ salty caramel glazed pork knuckle (£12.75).

The restaurant first opened its doors on the 17th May and you can go and enjoy a meal or drink their from Monday - Saturday from 11am to 11pm and 11am to 10pm on Sunday.
